Gearing up in 2012 for the 20th anniversay of the Festival ...
Yes, it's heading towards that time of the year again and considering it's the 20th anniversary of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, it's going to be a big one!
We'll again be hosting a bag full of events throughout that not only includes the ones below, but with Sommeliers Australia, Pinot Unearthed and more.
We assure you, you'll walk (or stagger) away well fed and watered … and maybe even entertained at them all.
Also, if you are keen to get your wine geek on, you will find Ben hosting the Aqua Panna Global Wine Experience throughout the Master Class weekend on the 10th & 11th of March. You'll also find Dan hosting the Perfect Match room (no puns please) on Sunday 11th at the Langham where you'll be able to chill out, relax and enjoy some of wine & food from industry's best. WINE WANKER ON THE ROOF (aka How not to Drink Wine Like a Wanker)
How not to Drink Wine Like a Wanker returns though this year Miss Pearls (Madame Brussels) and Dan Sims (The Wine Guide) have a new roof top pulpit in which to preach the good wine word as well as condemn the pompous, know it all, wine sinners. You'll laugh, cheer (maybe cry) and, possibly, gain an insight into the more amusing side of the wine world.
When: Tuesday 6th March, 5.30pm till 7.30pm

MEAT, MALBEC and MANLY MEN (well, almost)
Well, the name says it all really, doesn't it? Join the meat man, Adrian Richardson (
La Luna,
Secret Meat Business), and us wine men, Ben Edwards & Dan Sims for a tender packed evening full of varied forms of protein and wine to match. Whilst Adrian will talk you through different cuts, us wine boys (sorry, men) will give you an insight into Argentina's famous meat matching red, Malbec.
Word of advice, maybe don't have lunch prior.

Now calm down, we're talking meat & wine here! Which ever way you look out it, there is no denying the culinary qualities of suckling pig, suckling lamb, kid (goat!) and tasty little chooks, is there?
